PJ Johnson was formally invested as the Yukon Territory’s first Poet Laureate on July 1, 1994.

Glen Sorestad, poet and publisher, was named Poet Laureate of the Province of Saskatchewan in 2000.

Douglas Lochhead

Poet Laureate of Sackville, New Brunswick
  2002 -

Born in Guelph, Ontario, Douglas Lochhead is a long time resident of Sackville, New Brunswick and, since 2002, the Town’s Poet Laureate. He was recently appointed as Sackville Poet laureate for life. He is the author of over twenty published collections of his poetry. He was, until his retirement, the Director of Canadian Studies and is currently professor emeritus at Mount Allison University in Sackville.
