Pauline Michel

Parliamentary Poet Laureate
  2004 - 2006

Pauline Michel was born and raised in the beautiful Eastern Township region of Quebec. She became interested in writing, acting and singing at an early age. At her credit now, she has 11 books published in French – some translated in English – and also several videos and songs albums.

Pauline expresses herself in many genres – poetry, fiction, plays and songs, including songs and stories for children. She writes for radio, television and film.

On the stage, she imparts a particular music to words conceived in solitude. Her diverse cultural activities have taken her often outside her native Quebec to other Canadian provinces, France, and several African countries. Pauline was named Canada’s Parliamentary Poet Laureate in 2004, for a two-year mandate. She is now living in Montreal where she pursues many projects of creation in fiction writing, poetry, dramas, songs, television and films.
